Historical Background of ETDCO LIMITED

ETDCO Limited is a subsidiary Company of TANESCO Limited. The company was registered by BRELA on 7^th June 2016 under Section 3(1) and 27(1) of Companies Act CAP 212 (Revised 2016), read together with Section 18 of the Business Laws miscellaneous Amendments Act no 3/2012 as a Private Limited Company.

The Company is also registered with Contractors Registration Board (CRB) as a Class 1 (One) Contractor.

ETDCO was established through the elevation of a special construction unit that was operating as a Department within TANESCO known as KAUDA. KAUDA is a Swahili acronym that stood for "Karabati Umeme Dar", which can be translated to mean "Rehabilitate Electricity in Dar". The unit was mainly responsible for the construction and maintenance of electrical infrastructure in Dar es Salaam region. However,  it was also being assigned works in other regions.  In so doing, ETDCO had the opportunity to start with an experienced and skilled workforce right from its inception.
